International Graduate Program Medical Neurosciences
For the first time, this festive event took place at the freshly renovated Festsaal of the Humboldt Graduate School. Graduating students and their family and friends as well as faculty and alumni enjoyed the elegant ambiance of the former royal Prussian veterinary school.

Graduating class 2009 from left to right:
Michael Quinn, Tatjana Usnich, Sijie Zhang, Ivana Galinovic, Ha Thi Hoang (part-time student, will graduate 2011), Martin Munz, Karen Henning, Anantha Sivasubramaniam

It was a great pleasure to welcome one of our active guest faculty as keynote speaker this year: Prof. Thomas Hummel (right) of the University of Dresden Medical School spoke on Human Olfactory Function, proving once more that good science can be entertaining. This must be the reason, too, why he and his colleague Dr. Martin Witt received a teaching award for their olfaction course. For this course our MSc students travel to Dresden for the day and get a nose-on insight into olfaction research.

A big thank you goes to the Dean of Charité, Prof. Annette Grüters-Kieslich (left, next to Prof. Köhrle), for personally awarding the diplomas to our students. Thanks also to Karen Henning, who spoke as valedictorian and Martin Munz, who honored members of the faculty with the teaching awards.
